X-Chairman's Corner Week of Mar 14,2002
In an article by Matthew Cella of the Washington time
I gleaned this bit of information. "The Arlington County Va.
Board of Commissioners is calling proposals that members recite the
pledge of allegiance before The Board is all Democratic. Arlington County was at
one time in the District Columbia, but it was placed back in Virginia.
It is now a bedroom community of Washington, D.C. and almost all if
the county's These people holding government jobs are guaranteed
full employment and it has the lowest unemployment in the nation.
Being financed by Uncle Sam, is part of the reason that it enjoys
the lowest tax rates in the IN LIGHT OF THE ABOVE! You would think that this group of people would hold
the strongest allegiance to the nation which looks out for them so
well. In the month of November a citizen questioned the lack of the
pledge. He got no At this time two members of the board spoke out in
opposition. Vice Chairman Charles Monroe speaking from a prepared
text is quoted in the Times as saying, "I take offense when some
seek to pressure me into, or attempt to dictate, the manner of my
personal expressions of Loyalty. The motivation to get the pledge
on the agenda was political rather than patriotic. The voices loudest
in calling for the pledge are those who In November, President of the Arlington County Taxpayers
started a drive to add the pledge to the agenda. Taking a cue from
Hillery, Chairman Zimmeron said that it was a cheap political stunt
from Republicans NOW COMES THE RED CROSS! CNS reports that the Red Cross was having its annual Volunteer Recognition dinner in Santa Ana, CA. The Orange County High School of the Arts were scheduled to sing America the Beautiful, Prayer for the Children and God Bless America. The Red Cross told the music director that the religious words in the songs might offend some. Thus, the songs were not sung. It was reported that the Catholic League, furious about the Red Cross "Gag rules," launched a campaign Monday petitioning 100 organizations nationwide to drop their support for the American Red Cross. It's a pity that other religions do not take their fidelity to their religion or free speech seriously.
From News Max.Com comes this report. "Six months
after World Trader Center hijack leader Mohamed Atta and his lieutenant
Marwan Al-Shehhi had their visas approved for additional study by
the Immigration and Naturalization Service." Rudi Dekkers, an
employee of Huffman Aviation, displayed for TV cameras the INS forms
he received on March 11 approving hijack ringleader Atta and Al-shehhi
for continued study in the US. This shows how the Bureaucrats are
looking out for the taxpayer. One would think that the ones responsible
for this dereliction of duty might be some members of the Arlington
Board of Commissioners. |
