ARAFAT IS A TERRORIST, PURE AND SIMPLE.

He is also operating on US taxpayer funds and has been for a long time. $500,000.000 to be exact. Forthese funds he promised certain things. None of them has he delivered. For you see. Mr. Arafat is a liar and the truth in not in him. He was promised $500 million to eliminate the references in the National Covenant of the PLO calling for the destruction of Israel. He has taken our foreign aid and reapplied it, as he wanted to. Some columnists lately have said that Foreign Aid is "taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries." I forget who said it but historically; he is right on the
mark.

In the case of Arafat, he is taking tax money to fund terrorism. Americans should not be forced to fund terrorism. Let me give you an example. The family of a terrorist can draw a stipend if a member of that family
sends a suicide bomber to kill an enemy. Our politicians claim that this money is provided by Iraq. Iraq does provide money to the PLO, which is co-mingled with aid from other Arab countries, and also the United
States. Thus we directly support the families of suicide bombers and will until all aid is stopped to Arafat.

WE HAVE HEARD SINCE SEPTEMBER 11 THAT "ISLAM " MEANS PEACE.

This is a hard claim to swallow. If the Koran teaches that these people who kill innocent citizens of any country are "evil doers" as they claim, then they should act to discourage the suicide bombers. They have
not done this.

I am a Baptist and believe in the teachings of Christ about God's will. I try to practice these teachings. I believe that my position as a Baptist is correct, but an honest look will indicate that I am Baptist
because I first learned these teaching on my Mothers knee. Had she be a devout Methodist, I would probably have been just as much a Methodist as I am a Baptist. And the same is true for other religions. Had my family been in the same economic circle, I might even have been a Presbyterian. The same logic would lead me to conclude that most people who espouse a religion practice that of their parents and/or community. It for this reason that I have never had a practice of criticizing of other religions.

Most religions make a significant contribution to the morality of the community or country in which they are dominant. All religions have their darker moments. We have the Catholic and Protestant going after each
other in Northern Ireland. We had the inquisition of Spain. Unbelievable cruelties were fostered on those labeled as heretics. Torture was used to extract confessions. This torture was then followed by the most
cruel of deaths. Some heretics were burned at the stake. Others had their ribs and legs broken and thrown in to a bed of hot coals. Most religions have such shameful historical past. These are not caused
by the religion itself, they are caused by the religion being a state function. It is for this reason that the framers of the Constitution tried to separate Church and State.

CHURCH AND STATE

The purpose of the state to guarantee civil rights, the purpose of the church is to teach theology. If the state does guarantee the rights of all, then the excesses of religious fanatics are prohibited. This is not the case in the Islamic nations. There are no guarantees of freedoms from religious persecution. If your religion calls for you to be stoned for rape resulting in adultery, then that sent sentence is carried out.

Now back to Mr. Arafat. He is an evil man, a liar, and a cold-blooded killer. He uses the religion of the PLO to justify his evil acts. I believe that I remember that years ago, he herded a grope of Christians
into a church in Lebanon and burned that church. These were Christians, not Moslems. Now nothing will satisfy him but the destruction of Israel and the killing of as many Jews as possible. This philosophy is not limited to Moslem PLO but inclusive to most of the Moslem countries. Most of these have civil laws, which do not allow the collection of a bill owed to a Jew or a company controlled by Jews. No state, which separates a person from his civil liberties because of race, religion or color, should be allowed to exist and receive foreign aid from the taxpayers of the United States.
