A major problem with being a dog is you hardly ever get a chance to control the remote control to the TV. My master is a school teacher, and during the summer, we watch a lot of TV. We watch In the Heat of the Night, Law and Order, Hawaii Five-O, Matlock, and everyone's favorite The Andy Griffith Show. My two favorite episodes of Andy Griffith's show are the one where Earnest T. Bass is breaking all the windows in town and the one where Opie asks his Pa, "Is it OK to make change from the offering plate at church?"
I see my master write a check once a month for his "pew rent" at the local Episcopal Church. I guess he doesn't need to make change. When the priest was here to give my master

Communion after his operation, I counted my Liver Snaps-there were 35 so I gave the priest 3 1/2 to feed the poor dogs downtown. But for people it must be different.
There are a lot of different funds in churches today. There is the discretionary fund for the poor, the building fund for church improvements, the missionary fund for overseas churches, the widow's fund, the orphan's fund, and they even sell T-shirts for the Humane Society to help dogs in danger of heading to that big pound in the sky. Perhaps with all these funds, people need to round up to the nearest ten and forget change. My master says, "Things were a lot easier when churches were supported by taxes."
